12-10-2023
Los Angeles based Nicely Entertainment, producer/distributor of over fifteen movies a year to U.S. broadcasters and streaming platforms, has licensed two new Holiday movies to Hulu

The exclusive two-movie deal is headlined by the Denise Richards-led Holiday Romance, “A Christmas Frequency.” Both titles are scheduled to premiere November 1, 2023.

‘Since Nicely Entertainment was formed in 2020, we have become well-established both in the U.S. and overseas for providing high-quality feel-good romantic movies, and we are delighted to have cemented our first exclusive licensing agreement with Hulu’, commented company founder and CEO Vanessa Shapiro.

Denise Richards is well-known across the U.S. for her role on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills andBold and the Beautiful,” and it has been a pleasure to work with her on “A Christmas Frequency,” a holiday romance about authenticity and misunderstandings’.

The deal was brokered by Scott Kirkpatrick, Nicely’s Executive VP of Distribution.

In “A Christmas Frequency,” Richards stars as morning radio show host Brooke Walkins, who is not only secretly separating from her husband Todd (James Hyde) but haemorrhaging ratings on her show.

When she finds out the show is being axed, Brooke’s producer Kenzie Parker (Ansley Gordon) has the bright idea of setting up the host with a series of blind dates live on air to help Brooke find someone to take to the company’s Christmas party.

But things take an unexpected turn when Kenzie finds out Ben (Jonathan Stoddard), a guy she’s interested in, has applied to date Brooke. As Ben proves a hit with listeners, Kenzie finds herself having to choose between her heart and her job.

A Christmas Frequency is directed by Lindsay Hartley (The Romeo and Juliet Murders) from a screenplay by actress and screen writer Ansley Gordon.  Producers are Richard Switzer (Black Water, Bandit), and Nicely’s Head of Production Dave Hickey with Vanessa Shapiro serving as Executive Producer.

The second movie, “Reporting for Christmas” follows Mary (Tamara Feldman, “Walker,” “Strange Angel”), a hardened big city reporter who’s forced to take a break from her political beat in favour of a puff piece about a small-town toy company.

The assignment would be relatively simple until Mary meets the handsome and charming toy manufacturer Hank (Matt Trudeau) The chemistry is obvious, but Mary must ask herself what she really wants for Christmas; her career, or a chance of true love.

‘A Christmas Frequency’ and ‘Reporting for Christmas’, will also be made available day-and-date transactionally via Apple, GooglePlay, Vudu and Amazon.
