Nicely Entertainment Commences Principal Photography on A Christmas Frequency
Los Angeles-based independent production and distribution company Nicely Entertainment, which has released a slate of over 60 movies since launching three years ago, has commenced principal photography on the holiday movie, A Christmas Frequency, starring Denise Richards.Has commenced principal photography on the holiday movie, A Christmas Frequency, starring Denise Richards (Paper Empire, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Starship Troopers, Wild Things). The announcement today was made by Nicely’s CEO Vanessa Shapiro.
Richards, who next stars in the upcoming drama series Paper Empire along with Robert Davi, Kelsey Grammer and Anne Archer, headlines this holiday romance about authenticity and misunderstandings. Casting also includes Ansley Gordon (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Momlenialls, A Single’s Guidebook to Love), Johnathan Stoddard (Furry Little Christmas, Black Monday), and James Hyde (The Young and the Restless, Station 19, Passions).
Lindsay Hartley (The Romeo and Juliet Murders), director of 15 movies for Lifetime, Crackle, Hulu and Tubi, will direct the movie from a screenplay by actress and screen writer Ansley Gordon. Gordon has been working on several projects with Nicely this past year including The Abby Brooks Mysteries to premiere on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Pure Flix in 2023.
A Christmas Frequency is the first co-production between Dawn’s Light Media and Nicely Entertainment. Producers are Richard Switzer (Black Water, Bandit) in his third collaboration with Denise Richards (Altitude, Money Plane), and Nicely’s Head of Production Dave Hickey with Vanessa Shapiro, Ian Niles and Jason Cherubini serving as Executive Producers. Switzer is a prolific film producer with upcoming projects including The Collective with Don Johnson, Ruby Rose and Tyrese Gibson and The Kill Room with Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson.
In the movie, Brooke Walkins (Richards) is the host for the hit radio talk show Breakfast with Brooke produced by Kenzie Parker (Gordon). Their show has been dipping in ratings since Brooke and her husband Todd (Hyde) separated, and Brooke has decided to keep that a secret from everyone.
After learning that their show is on the chopping block, Kenzie sets Brooke up with a series of live on-air blind dates to find a date for the company Christmas party and get the show back on track. Kenzie finds herself having to choose between her heart and her head when she learns that Ben (Stoddard), the guy she's interested has submitted an application to go out with Brooke.
Kenzie brings him in for a date, and he and Brooke hit it off. Kenzie pushes her feelings aside for the good of the show after learning that he is polling highly with listeners.

Our holiday movies are broadcast around the world on leading channels, and we can’t wait to share A Christmas Frequency with a Holiday 2023 release’.

Richards is represented by Vault Entertainment and GGSSC; Jonathan Stoddard by Peter Kallinteris at Peter Kallenteris Agency; and James Hyde by Mike Baldridge at Momentum Talent and Literary Agency with his deal for the movie negotiated by manager Laura Pallas at Pallas Management Group.
