Eccho Rights has completed new pre-sales in various territories for its upcoming Irish drama thriller The Vanishing Triangle. Commissioned by Virgin Media in Ireland and AMC Network’s Sundance Now in the US & Canada, the series has now been picked up by several major broadcasters and platforms worldwide.

AMC NetworksAcorn TV has secured the UK premiere, as well as licensing the series for several other territories in its global footprint. SBS has picked up Australian rights, and the series is also sold across the Nordics with SVT (Sweden), DR (Denmark), NRK (Norway) and YLE (Finland) also licensing the title, while VRT will air The Vanishing Triangle in Belgium.

Produced by Park Films (Ireland), in association with Paper Plane Productions (US) and 87 Films (UK), The Vanishing Triangle is inspired by true events that shook Ireland in the 1990’s, when several women disappeared, never to be seen again. The project, which stars India Mullen (Normal People, Brassic) and Allen Leech (Downton Abbey, Bohemian Rhapsody) was originally developed by Park Films and Screen Ireland. Both leading actors are Executive Producers on the series.

‘Although The Vanishing Triangle is set in the 1990s in Ireland, the themes of this story are universal and still absolutely relevant today, and that combined with the fantastic talent and strong editorial are what makes the show so appealing internationally’, said Lucy Roberts, Director of Sales, Western Europe at Eccho Rights.

Acorn TV in the UK is delighted to partner with Eccho Rights on this gripping crime drama, allowing us to continue super serving our loyal viewers with can’t-miss programming. Aligning with our sister channel, Sundance Now, is an added bonus’, said Stuart Shaw, Managing Director, Acorn Media International (Acorn TV).

SBS Head of Network Programming, Peter Andrews, said ‘SBS and SBS On Demand are the destination for the world’s most distinctive storytelling with insightful stories and inspiring entertainment. We are the Australian home to the World's Best Drama, whether it is locally produced, foreign language or English language premium drama. SBS has always hunted down the best premium storytelling that raises awareness, encourages acceptance, and celebrates difference, whether locally produced or from across the globe. We’re excited to add The Vanishing Triangle - this unbelievable crime thriller to our vast collection of content and are absolutely primed to deliver this to our audience’.

India Mullen stars as reporter Lisa Wallace, working in the face of prejudice and police incompetence to investigate the mysterious murder of her own mother nearly twenty years earlier. Allen Leech plays David Burke, a detective helping Wallace with her case, but whose own struggles of coming to terms with his sexuality are a constant burden.

The Vanishing Triangle is created and written by Ivan Kavanagh (Son, The Canal, Never Grow Old), co-written by Sally Tatchell (The Bay, London Kills, Waterloo Road) and Rachel Anthony (Lucky Man, Mistresses, Ransom), and directed by Rebecca Johnson (Honeytrap, Top Girl). Executive Producers are AnneMarie Naughton (The Canal, The Fading Light) and Ana Habajec (Son, Midsummer Fire) for Park Films, Patrick Irwin (The Fall) for 87 Films and Alon Aranya (Your Honor, Tehran) for Paper Plane Productions, along with Allen Leech. For Eccho Rights, Adam Barth and Lucy Roberts also serve as Executive Producers.
