Happy Accidents announces the passing of CFO Courtney Colman

25th September 2024: Happy Accidents has announced the passing of Courtney Colman, the company's Chief Financial Officer. Colman, who played a central role in the company's operations, is remembered by her family, friends, and colleagues across the globe.

Born on July 29th in Toronto, Colman earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. In 1992, she became a Chartered Accountant, which marked the beginning of a 30-year career in the entertainment industry, specializing in strategic finance.

Before joining Happy Accidents in 2024, Coleman held the position of CFO at several prominent media companies, including the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), Mob Scene LLC, XPRIZE Foundation, Bellum Entertainment, Gold Circle Entertainment, Porchlight Entertainment, First Look Studios, and Lieberman Research Worldwide. Additionally, she served in senior finance roles at CBS Films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Music’s Interscope, Geffen, and A&M record labels, PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group in the UK.

At Happy Accidents, Coleman was responsible for the financial and tax oversight of the company’s film and television productions, as well as corporate strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Outside of her professional life, Colman valued time with her family, traveling, and walking her dogs. She held citizenship in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Coleman is survived by her two children, Patrick and Sophie.
