ITV Studios unveiled a raft of new titles at MIPCOM 2022

As part of its participation at MIPCOM 2022, ITV Studios unveils its new contents during a breakfast event. My Mum, Your Dad and Fifteen Love are the highlights during the event.

The company, who is attending MIPCOM this year present a line up of new formats drama series and non-scripted titles on its recent presentation in the market.

Produced by TwoFour for ITVX & ITV2, Loaded in Paradise (15x60’), it’s An adrenaline-fuelled reality game show where party-loving pairs island hop around Greece in a race to take control of - and spend - 50,000 euros. Only one pair can control the gold card loaded with cash at any one time. This lucky pair get to live it up on the run, while the penniless pairs hunt them down. After each 48-hour chase, everyone reconvenes at a luxury safe house. Culminating in a big twist on the final leg, it’s guaranteed to be a wild ride.

Also Bad Chefs, where YouTube sensation Chunkz welcomes ten culinary-challenged takeaway addicts to the Bad Chefs Cooking School in this chaotic new reality cooking competition. The show is produced by ITV Studios Germany for Joyn & ProSieben.

While offered a sneak peek of Queens For The Night, a brand new primetime entertainment show where a cast of celebrities will be mentored by the best Drag Queens to channel their inner diva and compete in a truly fabulous competition. Produced by Tuesdays Child for ITV1.

With ten new commissions confirmed by ITV, the company highighted during the event its new reality dating format My Mum, Your Dad, created by father-daughter duo Greg and Hayley Daniels, originally for HBO MAX. Following the acquisition of international rights via ITV America and the Global Creative Network, ITV Studios labels have secured first season orders from ITV in the UK, TV4 in Sweden and the NINE Network in Australia. The show follows a group of single parents who have been nominated by their teenage kids for a second chance at love.

Drama as a trend

In addition, ITV Studios presented its new dramas, headed by Malpractice, a new medical thriller that combines a searing insight into the pressures and politics of hospital life with a gripping story about a damaged doctor caught up in a dangerous conspiracy. The series is written by Grace Ofori-Attah (In the Long Run and Urban Myths), directed by Philip Barantini (Boiling Point, The Responder, Villain) and produced by World Productions for ITV.

Written by Jacqui Honess-Martin, directed by James Griffiths (Black-ish, Episodes, A Million Little Things) and produced by Patrick Spence for ITV, presented Maternal, a series that explored working motherhood with wit, warmth and authenticity. The show blends laugh-out-loud moments with tear-jerking drama as it takes us into the lives of three female doctors returning to post-pandemic frontline medicine after maternity leave.
