NBC Universal Intl closes production agreement with Full Clip Productions
NBC Universal International closes a development and first look deal with Full Clip Productions , the first partnership for that company established by John Schwarz , Michael Schwarz and Avatar and Clash of the Titans star Sam Worthington.Through the deal, NBC Universal Int'l builds on its growing worldwide production assets, which includes Carnival , Monkey and Chocolate Media in the UK, a joint TV production venture with WTTV , as well as a strategic production deal with Lark Productions in Canada.
Michael Edelstein , president, NBC Universal International Television Production , commented: ‘We look forward to helping John, Michael and Sam to develop ideas for audiences around the world'. Worthington added: ‘We have a great opportunity to develop these stories with NBC. Television is a terrific medium to captivate an audience…'.
The agreement calls for Full Clip Productions to develop original content, as well as potential spin off programming based on its graphic novel stories. Full Clip Productions will executive produce any projects greenlit and produced by NBCUniversal International through the deal.
Based in Los Angeles, the production company will work closely with Deborah Oppenheimer , EVP, NBCUniversal International Television Production throughout development and production. Schwarz said: ‘The combination of the creative assets and depth we bring to the table along with their vision for creating compelling content for global television audiences will prove to be a winning formula'.
Full Clip Productions was established in 2010 to create and develop intellectual property for screen adaptations. In May 2010, the unit entered into an imprint deal with Radical Studios , which allowed for the creation of original graphic novels to be published and distributed through Diamond Comic Distributors .
It will release their first graphic novel, Damaged , as a six part comic book and graphic novel this summer. Additional films in development include Alan Quartermain for Dreamworks and Last Days of American Crime for Radical Studios with Sam Worthington attached. The former is currently in pre-production for the Clash of the Titans sequel, Avatar 2 & 3 , as well as the Michael Mann produced, The Fields , with Jeffery Dean Morgan.
